Description

Continental SportContact 2 (MO). FEATURES AND BENEFITS: Summer weather traction; Hydroplaning resistance; Precise steering responsiveness; Enhanced braking ability; Better overall control; High speed durability; . OVERVIEW: The Continental SportContact 2 (MO) is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model is the original equipment tire of select Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The tire offers great summer weather traction and it grips the road well in dry and wet conditions thanks to the asymmetric tread design. The tire is not suited for use in winter weather, as the compound loses its excellent traction in the colder winter temperatures. The circumferential grooves resist hydroplaning by eliminating water from below the tire footprint, making it safer to use in such conditions. The asymmetric tread design also improves the steering responsiveness and precision. It maintains constant road contact which makes the tire follow the road surface in dry and wet weather conditions. This makes the tire swiftly and accurately respond to the driver’s instructions, enabling them to confidently control the tire on differing road surface conditions. The tire’s Advanced Mold Contour or AMC improves the braking power. It widens the tire footprint at the moment of braking and shortens the braking distance as it provides additional surface to create the friction needed for stopping. The internal structure of the SportContact 2 (MO) features twin steel belts reinforced with nylon. This enhancement upgrades the model’s handling and durability. The internal structure stabilizes the tread area, providing better overall control over the tire. The reinforced construction provides excellent high speed durability to the tire as it maintains the optimal tire shape against the external driving pressure. As the tire does not deform it is capable of performing to its highest performing capability. Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
